Innovative Sign Writing Workshop- Sydney Design Festival

  • Makers Place 1 Woodburn Street Redfern, NSW, 2016 Australia (map)

Learn to make beautiful, hand painted signs in this fantastic hand-on experience!

In this workshop you will be taken through the steps of going from a digital design to stencil and then hand painting to create a professional quality sign all from low-cost, easily accessible materials.

Blending technology and tradition, this innovative technique is not limited to just sign writing. Once you learn the basic digital to physical pattern making techniques you could even create larger murals!

This skill is designed to be easily repeatable at home and hopefully will get your creative minds flowing with possibility. The workshop is recommended for makers’ aged 12 and up. The great thing about this technique is that there is no experience necessary!

This workshop is taught by Alex Berini, a practicing artist and maker who specialises in interactive installation and sculpture. He developed it specially for Sydney Design Festival and will be running just once, so get in quick!
