How to Become A Member

1. Decide which Membership fits you best

2. Check out our CODE OF CONDUCT and make sure that you can abide by it. 

 

4. Book in your Induction - A Makers Place person will contact you to get you started! 

3. Click "Apply Now" next to your selection then fill in the membership form and start your regular payments via Pay Pal

 
 

You are welcome to come and visit us and get to know the community during opening hours or at our events

Makers Place Inc. depends on financial contributions from members, which cover costs of the facilities and general operating costs. We rely on volunteers to keep the space maintained, for mentorship of others and general support in business operations. Joining Makers Place involves filling in a sign-up form and agreeing to our code of conduct. Please note that if you are having financial hardship please contact our committee as you may be eligible to our social inclusion allowances. All people are welcome; we believe that true innovation is discovered via inclusiveness and empathy. We look forward to having you join the community!

Angel Member

$25 p/month

For the love of our maker community. This type of membership is for individuals and organisations that believe in the vision of Makers Place and want to financially contribute without actually using the space. You will also receive:

  • Your face on our supporters page
  • Opportunities to be paid to run workshops
  • Opportunities to present at our monthly Show & Tell events
  • Access to our community of enthusiastic makers who love sharing their skills and knowledge

Casual Maker

$45 p/month + Free yearly induction

For individuals who dabble in invention but don't have a lot of time on their hands.

Access: 4 days per month

Storage: 1 Milk Crate 

Perks

  • Access to over $22,000 worth of tools and equipment, including power tools, hand tools and 3d printers
  • Access to our community of enthusiastic makers who love sharing their skills and knowledge
  • Opportunities to troubleshoot at our monthly Show & Tell events
  • Opportunities to be paid to run workshops*Conditions apply
  • Paid project opportunities *Conditions apply
  • Opportunities to learn skills by collaborating on community projects
  • Upcycle with our “waste” materials collection

Avid Maker  

$75 p/month + Free induction

For individuals who have a project in mind and tinker or experiment regularly

Access: 8 days per month

Storage: 1 milk crate

Project Opportunities: Access to commercially paying projects*.

Innovative Organisation Membership 

$500 per month

This kind of membership is for groups who are invested in Innovation, Environmental & Social Impact. Makers Place is a place to Think, Test, Make & Play, and with this membership we make it our mission to inspire innovation within your organisation.

Help with Project Challenges - Call on our community to come up with solutions to your project briefs. This perk gives you access to our community of enthusiastic makers who love sharing their skills and knowledge

Talent Attraction  - Advertise for position openings via our website and social media streams

Events - Run team-building events at our place. At Makers Place, Design Thinking workshops are facilitated by Three Farm facilitators. The Three Farm network consists of designers, engineers, artists, technologists and scientists.

Social Impact - Leverage off our great Social Impact. Makers Place is an Incorporated not for profit association that can help your company meet social responsibility goals. Here is an example of our an initiative born out of the community - AbilityMate

Staff Incentives - Send staff to teach and learn with our community mentors and play with our equipment including a range of Digital Fabrication and traditional tools.

Promotion - Opportunities to promote your business and projects at our monthly Show & Tell events. We will also put your logo on our supporters' page.
